2 Day Countdown

In two days we'll be nearing the end of Brennan's Bar Mitzvah.  We still have some things we are getting ready, but it's almost time to sit and soak in the moment with family and friends.  The clouds and rain are starting to make their way to someone else's back yard and leave nice sunny Arizona Fall type weather.

Brennan is the most excited about the day almost being here.  I am so glad that he is looking forward to the day and is not one of those kids who feels pressure to go along with it just because it's what his parents want or worse...just for presents.

Brennan seems very confident in his Hebrew.  He is excited to wear a suit with a cool shirt and tie (very colorful...kinda his "thing").  And every time he hears someone is coming he gets excited.

Relatives that are coming into town are starting to let us know when they will be arriving.  We hope they all have safe travels.  Time to shop for a few more things needed...

Little B & Big S

I've been going through pictures of Brennan for a little project I'm doing for his Bar Mitzvah, and I came across this one. It's Brennan with my friend Valerie's son, Shawn. I can guess that the picture was taken when Brennan was about 3 because he's wearing his Woody (from Toy Story) vest and he wore that every day for several months the year that he was 3. Shawn was just about the age that Brennan is now: 12ish. Shawn is now in his senior year of college.

I think of Shawn whenever I think about how fast kids grow up. He's pretty much the oldest kid of any of the friends that I have that are my age. I met him when he was 6 and now he's finishing his last year of college. And that means that my kids will keep growing up and getting older also. And it feels like a fast forward thing even more with all of the photos around me of my kids going from 0-12 in the flip of an album (yes, I have a few of those) or the click of a mouse. Part of me wants to hit a pause button, but I can't wait to see what my kids will end up doing or looking like next. For now, back to the project and looking at some more great memories like this one.

Here's hoping I'm making sense right now...it's 2 a.m.
